01 / SELF-CUSTODY
Secure habits matter as much as the design behind a wallet.
Concept illustrationSelf-custody puts credential care in your hands. These are design principles and usage guidelines, not claims about unverified live features.

This site explains self-custody principles; it does not independently verify an application’s implementation. Check how keys are created, stored, and used for signing. Never share a recovery phrase.
Checking on-chain balances and broadcasting transactions generally require connectivity. Offline phrase backups do not. Actual offline-signing support depends on the verified application.
Record the words offline in their exact order and check them carefully. Avoid screenshots, cloud storage, messaging apps, and unfamiliar web forms.
A private key authorizes cryptographic signatures. A recovery phrase typically regenerates keys in a deterministic wallet. Either can expose assets if compromised.
